Results of Treatment for Cryptogenic Cirrhosis Patients with Tawapitak Recipes

Abstract
Case reported: A 64-year-old Thai woman, who has had dizziness, loss of appetite, jaundice, pitting edema and ascites during a period of 5 months PTA. She claimed that she has neither consumed alcohol nor taken medicine on a regular basis. Blood test showed a negative on HBsAg and anti-HCV, however, a high level of liver enzymes was detected. As a result, She was diagnosed an early stage of hepatitis. According to the CT-scan pictures, an abnormal liver was detected and she sure has been diagnosed a liver cirrhosis. With regards to 7 months of symptomatic treatment, nevertheless, her condition has not been improved. Alternatively, she has been treated by Tawapitak recipes containing herbs such as Smilax corbularia Kunth., Smilax glabra Roxb., Homalomena aromatica Schott. and Caryota mitis Lour etc. resulting in a rapid improvement on her condition and liver function test.
