Policy

Thai Journal of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery is a biannual journal published in June (Issue 1) from January to June and in December (Issue 2) from July to December each year. We welcome submissions of articles from the disciplines of otolaryngology, rhinology, and related academic fields. Original articles can be in Thai or English. All articles must have abstracts separated into Thai and English sections.

          The original manuscript submitted for consideration to Thai Journal of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery must not be under consideration by any other journal. Each article must undergo peer review by two qualified reviewers. Subsequently, the editorial board will provide the comments of both reviewers to the authors for further revisions. If the authors disagree with certain points raised by the reviewers, they may choose not to make revisions but must provide reasoned justifications supported by empirical evidence. Manuscripts accepted for publication after review become the property of Thai Journal of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and cannot be reproduced elsewhere without permission.

         Tables, graphs, images, or text exceeding 100 words copied from the work of others must be accompanied by permission from the original author or copyright holder, and must be appropriately cited within the manuscript.

Peer Review Policy

              Each article will undergo review by two qualified peers, who will evaluate the expertise in the relevant field of the submitted manuscript. The manuscript must also receive approval from the editorial board before publication. The peer review process will be conducted in a double-blind manner, meaning that both the authors' and reviewers' identities will remain anonymous to each other.

The types of articles accepted by Thai Journal of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery for publication are as follows:

  1. Original Articles: These should be structured as follows: Introduction, Study Rationale and Objectives, Materials (or Patients), Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.
  2. Patient Reports: These should include an Introduction, Patient Report, Discussion, Comments, and Conclusion.
  3. Review Articles: These should provide new knowledge, gather new findings, or discuss interesting topics that readers can apply. They should include an Introduction, Knowledge on the Topic, Discussion, and Up-to-date References.
  4. Clinical Practice Guidelines: Only accepted from organizations and professional societies.

Publication Frequency:

         The publication frequency is set at 2 issues per year. Issue 1 will be released from January to June, and Issue 2 will be released from July to December.

 

Publication Fees Policy:

         Thai Journal of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery does not have a publication fee policy at any stage. However, in cases where the original manuscript has been submitted for peer review and the author wishes to withdraw the research article from consideration for publication, a penalty fee of 2,000 baht per article must be paid.
