Abstract

One of oral motor examination is diadochokinetic (DDK) rate. However, there are no normative rate in Thai elderly. So, the aim of the study was to compare normative dataset of DDK rate in each age group. The sample group of the study was 142 persons. They were separated in 3 groups, depending on their age: 60-69, 70-79, 80-89 years. Participants pronounced /p/, /t/, /k/, and /p-t-k/ in 5 s. and 15 s. The results were DDK rate in /p/, /t/, and /k/ is not significant difference in each group, but in /p-t-k/ sound, the data showed significant difference both in 5 s and 15 s in each group.
