Abstract
arrhythmia. ECG can be obtained from various techniques. In order to choose which type would be appropriate
technique to perform ECG depending on patient’s clinical presentation. When patient’s arrhythmia-related
symptoms are infrequent and short-lived and the symptoms may be disappeared by the time they reach to the
hospital, cardiac event monitor can be a potential tool in order to record the symptoms. If patients have cardiac
event monitor easily accessible even at their home, they could record an ECG instantly when their symptoms
occur.
In this article, we will focus on the cardiac event monitoring in various aspects including recording
system, usage instructions, the use of event monitoring, ECG data transmission via telephone, potential
unfavorable effects and limitations of the event monitor. Hopefully both patients and their family members will be
benefit from this article and to help them understand and be able to record ECG effectively.
