มะเร็ง: ความเป็นมาของศัพท์แพทย์ และครบรอบ 100 ปีของการวินิจฉัยมะเร็งด้วยการตรวจทางพยาธิวิทยา

Abstract

Cancer is the malignant disease that is an important cause of death in human. Upon searching for the origin of this medical term, similarity in both Thai and English languages is evident – starting with the description of invading ulcer prior to reach the exact meaning used at present. This article shows the use of this medical term very early in a modern medical textbook in Thai in 1896. Furthermore, this article also mentions about the 100th anniversary of cancer diagnosis by pathologic examination.
