Abstract

This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the objectives of: (1) examining factors associated with the participation of network partners in dengue prevention and control operations, and (2) developing a participatory model for network partners in such operations in Mueang District, Songkhla Province. The sample comprised 340 network partners from the study area. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, were used to summarize the data, while inferential statistics included Pearson’s correlation coefficient, Chi-square test, and paired t-test.

The results indicated that participants demonstrated a high level of knowledge regarding dengue prevention and control (47.1%), a moderate level of attitudes (56.5%), and a high level of participation (83.2%). Factors significantly associated with participation at the 0.05 level included gender, age, access to information, community role, and attitudes toward dengue prevention and control. Furthermore, the level of participation among network partners significantly increased following the implementation of the developed participatory model (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that practical training programs should be promoted to strengthen positive attitudes toward dengue prevention and control. In addition, awareness campaigns and active engagement of network partners should be enhanced, alongside the provision of accurate and sufficient information, to improve the overall effectiveness of dengue prevention and control efforts.
