Guideline for Preventing Alcohol Consumption in Thai Adolescents According to the Theory of Planned Behavior

Abstract

               Alcohol consumption in adolescents found that the average age of having a first drink is decreasing. Adolescent drinking behavior causes many effects, including individual, familial, and societal. Preventing alcohol consumption in adolescents is important in helping reduce the problems and impacts. Therefore, understanding factors related to alcohol consumption in adolescents is essential in preventing alcohol consumption. At present, various strategies are used to prevent alcohol consumption in adolescents. The Theory of Planned Behavior is used as a conceptual framework for preventing alcohol consumption in adolescents. This academic article presents the situation and impact of alcohol consumption in adolescents, factors related to alcohol consumption in adolescents, the conceptual framework of the Theory of Planned Behavior and alcohol consumption traits in adolescents, factors predicting the intention to drink alcohol in adolescents and preventing alcohol consumption according to the Theory of Planned Behavior. This is a guideline for preventing alcohol consumption in adolescents.
