ประสิทธิผลของโปรแกรมการฝึกทักษะการดูดเสมหะทางท่อทางเดินหายใจเทียม โดยใช้สถานการณ์จำลอง ต่อความรู้ ทักษะ และความมั่นใจ ในนักศึกษาพยาบาลชั้นปีที่ 3 วิทยาลัยพยาบาลสภากาชาดไทย

Abstract

การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยกึ่งทดลอง (Quasi-experimental research) แบบกลุ่มเดียว วัดก่อน-หลังการทดลอง มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาประสิทธิผลของโปรแกรมการฝึกทักษะการดูดเสมหะทางท่อทางเดินหายใจเทียม โดยใช้สถานการณ์จำลอง ต่อความรู้ ทักษะ และความมั่นใจในนักศึกษาพยาบาลชั้นปีที่ 3 วิทยาลัยพยาบาลสภากาชาดไทย ซึ่งใช้การเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเจาะจง กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นนักศึกษาพยาบาลศาสตร์ชั้นปีที่ 3 ที่ลงทะเบียนเรียนรายวิชาปฏิบัติการพยาบาลผู้ใหญ่และผู้สูงอายุ 1  ปีการศึกษา 2552 วิทยาลัยพยาบาลสภากาชาดไทย จำนวน 152 คน ซึ่งคงเหลือจำนวน 71 คนที่มีข้อมูลก่อนและหลังการเข้าร่วมโปรแกรมครบถ้วน  เครื่องมือที่ใช้เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลประกอบด้วย แบบสอบถามข้อมูลทั่วไป แบบวัดความรู้  แบบประเมินทักษะ  และแบบสอบถามความมั่นใจ  วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลและนำเสนอโดยใช้สถิติ ร้อยละ และ Paired t-test

ผลการศึกษาพบว่า กลุ่มตัวอย่างมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยความรู้  ทักษะ  และความมั่นใจ  ภายหลังการเข้าร่วมโปรแกรมเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p < .001)  จากการศึกษาแสดงให้เห็นว่า โปรแกรมการฝึกทักษะการดูดเสมหะทางท่อทางเดินหายใจเทียม โดยใช้สถานการณ์จำลอง ทำให้นักศึกษารับรู้ว่าตนเองสามารถปฏิบัติกิจกรรมดังกล่าวได้อย่างถูกต้อง และมีความมั่นใจมากขึ้นในการนำไปปฏิบัติงานจริงบนหอผู้ป่วย ดังนั้นจึงควรมีการจัดสถานการณ์จำลองให้นักศึกษาได้มีโอกาสฝึกทักษะดูดเสมหะบ่อยครั้ง จนเกิดความมั่นใจก่อนขึ้นฝึกปฏิบัติงาน

The effects of the suctioning practice program by using a simulation situation on the knowledge, skill and confidence among third year nursing students at The Thai Red Cross College of Nursing

The quasi-experimental research used a pre-post test design. The objective of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the suctioning practice program by using a simulation situation on the knowledge, skill and confidence of third year nursing students at The Thai Red Cross College of Nursing.  In purposive sampling, the samples comprised 152 nursing students  who enrolled in the Adult and Geriatric Practicum 1 for the academic year 2009. After the program, the sample comprised 71 nursing students who completed the pre-post test data. The data collection was accomplished by using the observation of skill assessment form and questionnaires, which included demographic data, knowledge and confidence. The data were analyzed and presented by using percentage and paired t-test.

The results found that the mean scores of the knowledge, skill, and confidence in the samples after completing the program were significantly higher than before attending the program. (p < .001).  This study showed that the suctioning practice program enable the sample to perceive their ability to perform suctioning practice with more confidence. The findings suggest that students should have the opportunities to practice suctioning using simulation methods several times until they gain more confidence before practicing on a ward.
