The development of visiting model for Cardiac Catheterization at Udonthani Catheterization Laboratory, Udonthani Hospital

Abstract

The research and development purpose to develop Pre-operative visiting model and result of using visiting model for Cardiac Catheterization at Udonthani Catheterization Laboratory (Udon Cathlab),  Udonthani Hospital. Performed during August 2017-June 2018, the target group of the study were eleven Udon Cathlab nurses and thirty preparing patients for cardiac catheterization .There were three steps of process development. The first step, survey and developed visiting model by brainstorming. The second step, the visiting model was implemented. And the last step, evaluated the result of using this model. Instrument used in the study were visiting model. Data collection used questionnaires for Cathlab    nurses opinion about visiting model and assessment forms of anxiety, the satisfaction of patient on visiting model and postponed operation event. Data analysis used the statistics including  frequency, percentages and Dependent t-test. The results were as follow: visiting model included 1) assigned a nurse for visited preparing patients for cardiac catheterization 2) patient assessment visiting model form. 3) patient preparing information given by education brochure. 4) recorded and refered problems to health team.

Results of using this visiting model showed 1) service provider (eleven cathlab nurses) agreed with the visiting model and education brochure 2) patients showed the mean patient’s level anxiety before and after visiting decreased from 52.03 (S.D. 22.41) to 32.77 (S.D. 14.30) reduced with statistically        significant difference (p<0.05 ).
