Village health volunteers: roles of community mental health care in the situation of the COVID-19 outbreak

The village health volunteer's implementation of community mental health roles during the COVID-19 outbreak is an important mechanism for driving the Combat 4th Wave of COVID-19 Plan, because it is the part that makes the primary mental care practice of the people affected to be thorough and quick and is the beginning of the complete mental health care.
The roles of village health volunteers in community mental health during the situation of the COVID-19 outbreak consisted of 4 roles: 1) the primary mental health screening assessment consisted of practice guidelines for cured patients, home quarantine, and general public; 2) the psychological first aids consisted of practice guidelines for looking for those in need, listening to their problems and needs, and linking assistance; 3) the providing advice on self-monitoring and prevention of mental health problems consisted of practice guidelines for home quarantine, general public, elderly, and children; and 4) the implementation of mental health vaccines consisted of practice guidelines for enhancing individual vaccines (I am, I have, I can), family vaccines (positive energy, flexible energy, collaborate energy), and community vaccines (4+2; safety, peaceful, hopeful, destigmatization, community potential & participation and relationships & networking).
District-level MCATT team (Mental health Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team) led by the subdistrict health promotion hospital should bring the information of this article to disseminate to volunteers in their responsibilities to increase efficiency in the performance of their roles and duties in taking care of community mental health in the situation of the Covid-19 outbreak.
