The Management of Traumatic Tooth Loss with Dental Implants in the Anterior Maxilla: A Case Report

Complex facial injuries, often cause a great loss to patients, lead to loss of teeth bone and oral soft tissue around the affected area and also cause defect to edentulous ridges. Replacing teeth in these patients are difficult and complicated, due to insufficient bone and soft tissue to support denture. Replacement of teeth at anterior maxilla requires consideration of both functional and aesthetic factors. Therefore dentists must have expertise and experience to prepare bone and tissue to be adequate and suitable for supporting denture. This report in Thai man 34 years old presents the management of traumatic tooth loss due to complex facial injuries involving anterior maxilla. Definitly diagnosis was dentoalveolar defect at anterior of maxilla and replacing by dental implants with guided bone regeneration (GBR) with resorbable membrane. Patient was followed up 1 week and 6 months later, found normally bone and soft tissue surrounding and then 2 years after finished is good quality in prosthesis, surrounding of implants is covered with normal bone.
