Readiness for undergraduate online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic: A case study of the Prince of Songkla University Phuket campus

This research investigates the preparedness for, and understanding of, online study by undergraduate students at the Phuket campus of Prince of Songkla University during the Novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Data was gathered by online questionnaire inquiring about the preparedness for online study of sample groups of undergraduates enrolled at the Phuket campus of Prince of Songkla University. The data was analyzed by cross-sectional descriptive research and presented to executives of the Phuket campus, Prince of Songkla University to resolve future problems with online study. Results were that students had a moderate level of knowledge, understanding and preparedness to study online. In addition, students required a moderate level of departmental or university-wide support to achieve their academic goals. Nevertheless, the findings indicated that the students were prepared to adjust themselves to online study should the COVID-19 pandemic necessitate such an educational approach.
