Results of Creative Work and Fine Art Skills through the One Decade of Satit Ongkharak Ruamjai Performance

Abstract

Mixed methods research was done to present creative work in fine arts on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Ongkharak Demonstration School. Qualitative data was collected by interview from 14 stakeholders, including school management, parents and students and documents used in creating the fine art performance were analyzed. Quantitative research was also done to develop student fine art skills through artistic creation of the One Decade of Satit Ongkharak Ruamjai performance at Ongkharak Demonstration School. 22 participants were music and performance club students. Results were that the fine arts performance demonstrated a combination of natural gestures and movements with emphasis on performers’ emotion to convey school pride. The performance was divided into three phases: background narration, relationship building, and school pride. A contemporary international band performed with a mix of Thai and western musical instruments. There was an eight-part song in the form Intro I A₁ I A₂ I B I C I SOLO I B I C I. The songs were in the Eb Major and B Major scales. In addition, student fine art skills increased after participation in the artistic performance at a statistical significance of .05 from an average of 3.14 in fine art skills, representing 62.95 percent, with an increase to 4.51, equal to 90.22 percent.
