Abstract

               Objective: This research was cross-sectional study to study the level and the relationship between good person and happiness among undergraduate students, Walailak University.


               Methods: Research participants were recruited by a specific sampling method. A total of 1,539 of undergraduate students. The research instruments 1) demographic data, 2) good person and 3) happiness measurement form. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, and Fisher’s Exact Test.


               Results: Overall students recognize being a good person at the high level, with the highest level in Health Science disciplines, followed by Social Sciences and Humanities disciplines, and Science and Technology disciplines, respectively. Students have the most recognize being a good person in the part of team working and relationships, followed by responsibility, and honesty, respectively. The mean score of students' happiness levels were at the high level, with the highest level in Health Science disciplines, followed by Social Sciences and Humanities disciplines, and Science and Technology disciplines, respectively. Students have the most happiness in the part of peer relationships followed by a warm family, and security and student’s behaviors, respectively. Being a good person of the three groups were significantly associated with happiness (p = 0.000).


               Conclusion: Developing the traits of being a good person enhances students’ happiness.
