Predisposing, Enabling and Reinforcing Factors and Oral Health Behavior Associated with Dental Caries of Visually Impaired, Buayai District, Nakhon Ratchasima in 2017

The purpose of this Cross-sectional Analytical study was to assess Decay situations and factors associated with dental caries of Visually impaired in Buayai District, Nakhon Ratchasima. The sample were 114 visually impaired persons who registered in Disability Information Region 14 Nakhon Chai Bu Rin Program. Data were collected by interview and oral examination from September - November 2017. Data were analyzed with descriptive studies and multiple logistic regression analysis.
The result showed that 114 visually impaired persons were female 60.5% minimum and maximum age were 21 and 93 years(mean=67.45±14.19). The prevalence of dental caries was 58.8%. Decay Missing Filling Tooth Index (DMFT) was 15.92±10.7 teeth/person. Multiple logistic regression analysis of significant factors associated with dental caries were age, BMI, marital status, and knowledge (p-value<0.05).
