Abstract

Firefighter is one of the most at-risk professions exposing a wide range of health hazards at every step of the working process, especially firefighting procedure that expose to chemical hazards from exposure to smoke from fires, vapours, fumes, and explosions affecting on respiratory health problems which can be fatal. Taking care of workers’ health is not only a duty for employees in caring for themselves and their employers, but also an important role for public health nurses. This article aims to inform health effects among firefighters causing from exposure to chemical hazards. Additionally, the article also suggested guidelines for preventing firefighters and other professionals exposed to chemical hazards according to the role of public health nurses.
