Abstract

This descriptive correlational study aimed to: 1) examine the level of artificial intelligence (AI) use in learning among nursing students at Buriram Rajabhat University; 2) investigate students’ self-perceived academic achievement; and 3) determine the relationship between AI use in learning and self-perceived academic achievement. The sample consisted of 125 first- to third-year nursing students enrolled in the 2025 academic year, selected through stratified random sampling. The research instruments included an Artificial Intelligence Use in Learning Questionnaire and a Self-Perceived Academic Achievement Scale. The reliability coefficients of the instruments were 0.95 and 0.94, respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including means and standard deviations, as well as Pearson’s product–moment correlation coefficient at a significance level of 0.05.

The findings revealed that the overall level of AI use in learning among the participants was high (Mean=4.05, SD=0.50). Likewise, the level of self-perceived academic achievement was also high (Mean=3.56, SD=0.62). Furthermore, AI use in learning was positively and significantly correlated with self-perceived academic achievement at a high level (r=0.56, p<0.001).

The findings suggest that AI plays an important role in enhancing students’ academic achievement. Educational institutions should therefore encourage and support the responsible, critical, and ethical use of AI to improve learning effectiveness and maximize students’ academic potential in the digital era.
