บทคัดย่อ

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of high-fidelity simulation
based learning on knowledge satisfaction and self-confidence among nursing students of
Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Saraburi. Simple random sampling was used to recruit a
sample of 69 nursing students and divided into two groups, 34 nursing students in the
intervention group and 35 nursing students in the control group. The intervention group was
taught by the high-fidelity simulation based learning including 4 situations and each situation
consumed 60 minutes, whereas the control group was taught by the regular method of
curriculum. The instruments used in this study comprised the Knowledge Test and the Student
Satisfaction, and Self-Confidence in Learning Scale. Descriptive statistics and t-test were
employed to analyze data. Results of this study showed that 1) the mean score of knowledge
and confidence of the intervention group after the experiment were significantly higher than
that before the experiment and 2) the intervention group showed the significantly higher mean
score of knowledge, satisfaction, and confidence than that in the control group after the
experiment. Results of a focus group showed that the intervention group obtained knowledge
about assessment, treatment, and nursing care. The students in the intervention group reflected
that they could remember the knowledge for a long time, and had satisfaction with high-fidelity
simulation based learning which helped them think and make decision quickly. Moreover,
most students had been more confident to perform nursing assessment and to set priority of
nursing care. The results of this study can be used for promoting high-fidelity simulation based
learning for nursing students.
