แนวคิดความเป็นผู้นำทางจิตวิญญาณ เป็นหนึ่งในลักษณะของความเป็นผู้นำ ที่ให้ความสำคัญกับอุดมการณ์ซึ่งมีที่มาจากความเชื่อ ความศรัทธาอันแน่วแน่มั่นคงในพลัง อำนาจเหนือธรรมชาติ/พระเจ้า และดำเนินชีวิตบนพื้นฐานแห่งความจริงสูงสุด ทำให้มีบุคลิกภาพ พิเศษ มีพลังอำนาจจากภายใน ลักษณะของความเป็นผู้นำทางจิตวิญญาณที่ผู้อื่นสามารถ สัมผัสได้ คือ การได้รับความไว้วางใจ การให้อภัย มีจิตใจที่มั่นคง ซื่อตรงยืนหยัดในความจริง ด้วยความกล้าหาญ ไม่ย่อท้อต่ออุปสรรคนานาประการ นิยมในความดีเลิศ ภายใต้บุคลิกภาพที่ เป็นมิตร สุภาพอ่อนน้อม เปี่ยมด้วยความรักและเมตตาจิตอันไพศาล ความเป็นผู้นำทาง จิตวิญญาณจึงเป็นแนวคิดที่มีความสำคัญในการนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ในวิชาชีพการพยาบาล ซึ่งกำลังเผชิญกับสถานการณ์ในหลากหลายรูปแบบ เช่น การขาดแคลนพยาบาล การจัดการ พยาบาลเมื่อเกิดสาธารณภัย การเพิ่มขึ้นของจำนวนผู้ป่วยโรคเรื้อรัง เป็นต้น โดยความเป็น ผู้นำทางจิตวิญญาณจะมีอิทธิพลต่อทีมงานการพยาบาลในด้าน ความคิด ความเชื่อ ความศรัทธา ในคุณค่าที่แท้จริงของงานการพยาบาล อันจะนำไปสู่ความสำเร็จในการแก้ไขปัญหาอย่างยั่งยืน

Abstract

The concept of spiritual leadership is an ideology based on the belief or faith in supernatural or divine power and in the need to live according to reality. This type of leadership is believed to create a special personality reflecting inherent power. Characteristics likely exhibited by people with spiritual leadership include trustworthiness, forgiveness, mental stability, honesty, courageous abidance by the truth, tenacity, desire for excellence, friendliness, politeness, gentleness, charitableness and loving- kindness. For this reason, the concept of spiritual leadership is being applied to the nursing profession, which involves encounters with various situations, such as shortage of nurses, dispatch of nurses in times of disasters and the increase in the number of chronic disease patients. Spiritual leadership is, therefore, seen as playing an influential part in strengthening the confidence, belief and faith in the true worth of the nursing profession—a factor believed to contribute to sustainable development of problemsolving skills.
