DEVELOPMENT OF MODEL OF SKILLS TRAINING ACTIVITY TO ENHANCE HEALTH LITERACY ABOUT HIV AND STIs TO PROMOTE THE USE OF CONDOM AMONG ADOLESCENTS AND YOUTHS

This study is a research and development study. Using a 4 step method 1. The study of basic data for the development of health literacy 2. Develop the skill training activity model for enhancing health literacy HIV&STIs to promote the use of condoms among adolescents and youths 3. Experiment the skills training activities to enhance health literacy. HIV&STIs to promote the use of condoms among adolescents and youth; and 4. Evaluation and improvement of activity patterns. The sample consisted of 19 high school students. Data were collected by questionnaires before and after participating in the activity. Data analysis with statistics Distribution of frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and paired sample’s t-test.
The results of the study showed that activities for skills training to enhance health literacy HIV&STIs to promote the use of condoms among adolescents and youths It consists of 5 skill training activities. Including accessibility skills, Understanding skills, Questioning skills, Decision making skills, and applying skills by using various strategies which are Fotonovela Technique Checklist & Scorecards Teach-back Technique Show-me Shame - free Chunk & Check Methods and Ask me 3. After participating in the activity to develop skills to enhance health literacy HIV&STIs to promote the use of condoms among adolescents and youths. The target group has an average score on health literacy HIV&STIs increased from 132.63 points to 155.58 points and was statistically significant (p < 0.05). The results of the study show that this activity pattern Able to develop skills to enhance health literacy HIV&STIs to promote the use of condoms among adolescents and youths effectively.
