DEVELOPMENT OF TRAINING ACTIVITIES PACKAGE BY USING GE-TICA MODEL ON AIDS AND STIs AMONG THE STUDENTS OF THAILAND NATIONAL SPORTS UNIVERSITY

Abstract

          The purposes of this research were to 1) develop and examine the efficiency of training package by
using GE-TICA model on AIDS and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) with the 80/80 efficiency index, 2) investigate the training activities package, and 3) measure the training activities package’s satisfaction with the freshman year students of Faculty of Education, Thailand National Sports University, Phetchabun
Campus. The participants were 93 students recruited by using purposive sampling. The quasi-experiment
research design was used for 2 groups with randomized participation. The instruments of this research were GE-TICA model training activities package, questionnaire on AIDS and STIs, survey toward attitude related to sexual behaviors, survey the intention to reduce sexual risk behaviors, and the satisfaction assessment toward the training activities package which had reliability percentage at 85%, 94%, 92% and 92% respectively. Data were analyzed by using mean, standard deviation, E1/E2 formula, and compare mean. The results revealed that the training activities package had the efficiency index at 81.81/88.96 in the group 1 and 81.63/85.53 in the group 2. After engaged in the experiment research, both group realized the participant realized knowledges on AIDS and STIs, attitude toward sexual behaviors, and intention to reduce sexual risk behaviors higher than before experiment and were statistical significantly different at .05 level. Additionally, the percentage of satisfaction toward the training activities package of the first group was 82.65% and 81.74% for the second group.
