FACTORS RELATED TO THE ABSENCE OF TREATMENT APPOINTMENTS OF THE PATIENTS WITH HIV / AIDS IN VACHIRA PHUKET HOSPITAL

The objectives of this research the factors affecting the absence of appointments and missing treatment among the patients with HIV / AIDS and to study the relationship of the factors of individual / community service structure affecting the absence of appointments and missing treatment. Of HIV / AIDS infected who had been on antiviral drugs for 12 months or more, had a history of missed appointment and lack of treatment for at least 1 week in a year total 349 people and voluntarily take the questionnaire 67 people. Data were collected by questionnaires the general information were analyzed by descriptive statistics, distribution of frequency, mean, percentage, standard deviation and Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient.
The results of the research were as follows. The factors affecting the absence of treatment and missing
appointments were mostly males 55.20%, age between 21-41 years 53.70%. Average monthly income was less than 15,000 baht 52.20%. And the education level was secondary level 44.80%. The factors related to the level of services and individual community structure affecting the absence of an appointment were as follows of (1) service access, the clinical distance is far away from home 56.00%, unemployment 32.00% and the travelling expenses were expensive 16.00%, (2) Clinical quality, no privacy; the most 53.80% followed by fear of disclosure of blood results to others 30.80%, (3) Work and family, the busiest working was 67.60%, followed by family care 38.20% and the least, the husband or wife passed away 5.90%, (4) In terms of health, there was enough medicine left the most 48.30% admitted in the hospital 31.00% and the least no need to take medicine 3.40, (5) On the other side of receiving the information, the relocation to the country was the most 100 percent.
