Abstract

Improving the quality of information on HIV prevention and treatment in the community by using The Data-driven Continuous for Quality Improvement (DQI) tool. This information may be used to enhance the effectiveness of services within the health care unit. Prepare a program to expand the area of operations nationwide. Therefore, there is a need to consider the factors that affect the effectiveness of data quality improvement, in particular the information technology (IT) availability factor.

The cross-sectional study was conducted to determine the IT availability factors affecting the operational effectiveness of improving the quality of a hospital information system for HIV prevention and treatment. Structured questionnaires were also used to obtain information from health care staff responsible for using the DQI tool in HIV units in four provinces in Thailand. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and an independent t-test was conducted to compare the average IT availability score for five dimensions (hardware, software, personal, process, and utilization of data dimension).

The results showed that four dimensions (software, personal, process, and utilization of data dimension) were significantly different from the operating effectiveness of improving the quality of a hospital information system for HIV prevention and treatment (p-value <0.05). The availability of the software was significantly different from the decrease in running time. In addition, the availability of software and personnel was statistically significant with the implementation of the DQI tool on an organization-wide basis.

These findings point to the importance of resource readiness as a key determinant of the success of sustainability of local operations. In addition, this information can be used for decision-making and planning to expand quality improvement operations to cover the country in the future.
