Abstract

This correlation research aimed to assess factors associated with the pain of miscarriage women with curettage. Seventy-eight miscarriage women were purposively recruited into the study based on the inclusion criteria. Data were collected using three questionnaires: a demographic questionnaire, a Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (Thai HADS), and a pain assessment using the Visual Analog Scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Person’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient, Spearman’s Rank Correlation, and Chi-Square Test. Findings revealed that the average pain score of miscarriage women with curettage was 2.71 (SD = 1.88). Personal factors, anxiety, and depression were not significantly correlated with the pain of miscarriage women with curettage under general anesthesia. Findings suggest that personal factors and social support may be related to lower pain, anxiety and depression of the studied women. The studies should be done in the larger and various study groups of miscarriage women received curettage.
