Public Health Teaching in Medical School

บทคัดย่อ

At present, public health science is an essential part for medical education. However, public health teaching was neither interactive nor attractive. The teaching-learning process requires changes as well in terms of its content and process. This article aims to propose conceptual, knowledge of contents and teaching process which should be concern for public health teaching in medical school.  The core contents of public health include concept of epidemiology, health promotion and management which is relevant to health system and population need of the country. Teaching and learning process should be based on experiential learning with the integration of clinical practice and local health organization. In order to achieve people-center health care, the medical school should strengthen critical thinking, reflection and communication skills in public health practice in the curriculum of medical education at the undergraduate level.
