บทคัดย่อ

Musculoskeletal disorders are the most common occupational diseases. Risk factors of these diseases are awkward positions, forceful exertions, static postures, repetitive movements and vibrations. Therearemanynames for this group of diseasese.g. cumulative trauma disorders, repetitive strain injury, overuse syndrome. This report described 3 cases of female workers who work for a sticker unit of a motorcycle helmet factory in Rayong province, Thailand. They had been diagnosed with wrists and ankles tendinitis which caused by repetitive movement of wrists and ankles to seal the stickers on the motorcycle helmets. They had chronic pains and required many visit of treatments. This cumulative trauma disorders caused by this type of work had never been reported. These conditions can be prevented by engineering improvement of manufacturing process and worker administration.
