A Development of the Indicators for Public Health Technical Officers Competencies in Tambon Health Promoting Hospitals

บทคัดย่อ

The purposes of this research were to develop and validate competency indicators of Public Health Technical Officers at Tambon Health Promoting Hospitals. Employing R&D methods, the study consisted of 2 phases: firstly, constructing the competency indicators of Public Health Technical Officers at Tambon Health Promoting Hospitals by documentation, in-depth interview, focus group discussion and operational seminar, secondly, verifying the indicator qualities by utilizing Delphi technique through experts’ inquiries and examining the validity of the model using LISREL 8.72 program.

Findings indicated that the eight components of competency indicators of Public Health Technical Officers consisted of 50 indicators which included 1) health care system analysis and community health assessment comprised 4 indicators, 2) community diagnosis and community health problem solving composed of 8 indicators, 3) teamwork and networking composed of 5 indicators, 4)integrated health service for individual /families/ and local community comprised 13 indicators, 5) budget management composed of 6 indicators, 6) leadership and systematic thinking composed of 4 indicators, 7) routine to research composed of 6 indicators, and 8) morals and ethic composed of 4 indicators.Confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the model fit the empirical data with c2=624.17 df=576 c2/ df

The indicators developed could be used to evaluate competency of the Public Health Technical Officers at Tambon Health Promoting Hospital.
