Factors Influencing Organizational Commitment of Instructors in Sirindhorn College of Public Health, Praboromarajchanok Institute, Ministry of Public Health

Organizational commitment is a factor that makes people continue to work with the organizations. It fosters job satisfaction, performance, and organizational success. Moreover, it promotes organizational climate, such as enthusiasm to participation. The main purpose of this cross-sectional descriptive study was to identify factors affecting organizational commitment among the instructors of Sirindhorn College of Public Health. Data were collected from questionnaires mailed to 191 instructors from 7 colleges. The questionnaire consisted of organizational characteristics, job characteristics, work experience and organizational commitment. Data were collected from August to October 2552, and analysed using descriptive statistics such as mean, standard deviation and percentage, as well as analytical statistics which included correlation analysis and multiple regression. The results of this study revealed that organizational commitment among the instructors was at a high level. Organizational characteristics, job characteristics and work experience were positively correlated with organization commitment with statistical significance at 0.757, 0.655 and 0.734 respectively, but positions were inversely correlated at - 0.027. Leadership, age, organizational creditability, job challenge and reliability, and trust were predictive factors for organizational commitment of the instructors of Sirindhorn College of Public Health by 66.10 %.
