Abstract
Objective: To study the success of the multidisciplinary social work process and follow up a system, that
to help teenage mothers can take care the children by their own families or within one year after the discharge
from the hospital does not appear to send their children to foster home.
Methods: The social research methods was a retrospective study from a record of social work about the
social service assistance to help the teenage mothers under 18 years of age and maternity at Siriraj Hospital in
the year B.E. 2552-2553; the sample consisted 300 people.
Results: There were teenage mothers 300 cases; minimum age 13 years old (average 16 years). A social
worker can track teenage mothers by phone call or home visit after discharge from hospital completely. The
evaluation of teenage mothers after one year was not found anyone sends their children to foster home and
their pregnant again. Which is the success of the multidisciplinary social work process and follow up a system?
The importance of family acceptance in children was found difference between teenage mother’s family with her
husband’s family, which the family acceptance was the different levels that relation to the probability 95% CI and
the value of difference between 5.16 to 18.83%.
Conclusion: The level acceptance of family in children and teenage mothers that were associated with the
managed social services for a family of children’s attendant as holistic a multidisciplinary social work process.
