From visiting radiology department of five community hospitals in Yala Province, found that more than 50% were chest x-ray. But There was no radiation protection for the patients. There should be a way to raise awareness for radiation officer to realize the importance of radiation protection to the patients to ensure the safety of the patients, especially women in reproductive age whose fetus may get harm. This report used the lesson review process from visiting radiology department of community hospitals in Yala Province. The visit was twice a year. Each time was to educate the radiation officer about ways of protection. Firstly, to teach by explaining without protection. Secondly, Training / lecture about Harm from radiation and protection. There was a few innovation. Thirdly, doing research on the effects of radiation scattering on growth of morning glory and green mungbean.
The third method was quite concrete and obvious due to the morning glory and green beans which were received scattered radiation grew higher than normal ,showing that radiation affected the organism. We finally had ideas of preventing radiation. The third method should be distributed extensively to other radiation departments so that the patients can receive a safer radiation service. This will help improve the quality of radiology services.
