Abstract

This cross-sectional study was aimed to examine the participation of people on prevention and control of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) and to determine the predictive factors regarding to that the participation of people on prevention and control of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever among 204 people in Non-Phueng Sub-district, Warinchamrab District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation. Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression were analyzed at the statistically significance level (p<0.05).

The results revealed that the level of participation of people on prevention and control of DHF was good on average. Occupation, period of living in community, perceived risk and perceived severity of DHF were significant correlated to the participation of people on prevention and control of DHF. The variables can be significantly predicted of people participation against DHF were occupational (p<0.001), the living period (p<0.001), and perceived risk of DHF (p<0.018), respectively.

The results of this study indicated that community health teams should encouraging people’s participation on prevention of DHF in the community. Moreover, the responsible organizations should appropriate knowledge for enhancing and understanding of DHF in order to raise awareness of risk and severity of DHF.
