Environmental Health Management and Factors Affecting to Environmental Health Management in Child Development Center

The Child Development Center is a part of the Local Administrative Organization. We conducted a survey study with the aim to evaluate the appropriate level of environmental health management and investigate the management factors affecting environmental health management in 33 Children's Development Centers in the Phatthalung Province. The environmental health management questionnaire had a 5-point scale with the content validity value of 0.985 Participants in this study were 246 people consisting of teachers, parents, and sanitation technical officers. Participants were enrolled in this study by purposive sampling method. The data was collected between October 2019 and March 2020. We analyzed our data using descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and simple linear regression.
Our study found that the residential sanitation management was at a high level (3.49±0.47), while the levels of food sanitation management (3.25±0.39), water supply sanitation management (3.25±0.39), and solid waste management (3.12±0.27) were at medium level. The study showed that environmental health management factors affecting the implementation of environmental health of child development centers and can be used together to explain the variation in the environmental health management at 72.2 percent (R2= 0.722) at the significance level of 0.05. Our findings suggest that a person with knowledge of environmental health should promote appropriate environmental health operations that are relevant for children.
