The purpose of this quantitative research was to study and analyze factors promoting academic service of the colleges under the jurisdiction of the Praboromarajchanok Institute, Ministry of Public Health. We used multi-stage random sampling sample to recruit 318 teachers under the jurisdiction of the Praboromarajchanok Institute, Ministry of Public Health who experienced in academic service to society at least 1 year. Data was collected by using a questionnaire. Reliability of the questionnaire was good (Cronbach’s alpha coefficient =0.98) . We analyzed the data using exploration factor analysis with orthogonal factor, varimax method.
We identified 5 factors described by 50 variables that accounted for 75.27 % of the total variance in academic service of the college under the jurisdiction of the Praboromarajchanok Institute, Ministry of Public Health. Each factor described the percentage of variance from the highest, respectively, as follows: The factor 1, networking, consisted of 16 variables with describing 20.84% of variance. The factor 2, self-development, consisted of 10 variables with describing 19.61% of variance. The factor 3, presence participation, consisted of 10 variables with describing 18.04% of variance. The factor 4, integrated planning, consisted of 5 variables with describing 10.53% of variance. Lastly, the factor 5, strengthening, consisted of 9 variables with describing 6.249% of variance.
