This survey research study aimed to study nursing students' 21st century learning skills at the Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Praboromarajchanok Institute, Thailand. We also studied how personal, demographic characteristics were associated with levels of their learning skills. One hundred and sixty-three nursing students who are enrolled during the 2019 academic year were stratified by random sampling to participate in the research. Students were at different years of study including years 1, 2, 3, and 4. We collected data using questionnaires about 21st century learning skills between April and May 2020. We conducted data analysis using descriptive statistics (percentage, mean, and standard deviation). Moreover, the T-test and one-way ANOVA were used to measure the differences in demographic characteristics and different types of learning skills.
This study recommends that the students’ activities should provide nursing students with cooperative opportunities and create relationships between students with each year of study. Moreover, the college should consider integrating the learning activities into their curriculum. We especially encourage creative and innovative activities that help improve effective and efficient development of creativity and innovation skills.
