Abstract

The present study aimed to compare the academic achievement and satisfaction of second-year nursing students before and after engaging in cooperative learning using health marketing on female reproductive system disorders. We measured the satisfaction of those students after using cooperative learning with health marketing, and studied the cooperation ability of students after receiving the leassons. This study used a one-group, pre–post test, quasi–experimental design. The subjects were 66 second-year nursing students enrolled at Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Yala during the 2018 academic year. The experimental instruments included 4 hours lessons containing cooperative learning with health marketing, an achievement test with 20 questions (4 possible answers per question), and a satisfaction survey with 12 items, test measuring cooperation ability of students after receiving lessons with 10 items. The data analysis consisted of descriptive statistics and a paired t-test.

The results found that the nursing students’ achievement after using cooperative learning with the health marketing (Mean = 10.07, SD = 2.06) was higher than before the lessons (Mean = 7.36, SD = 2.51). There was a significant difference between nursing students’ knowledge of the female reproductive system disorders before compared to their knowledge after participating in cooperative learning with health marketing (p<0.0001). The satisfaction of those students after using cooperative learning with the health marketing was high (Mean = 4.37, SD = 0.76). The cooperative ability of students after receiving cooperative learning with the health marketing was a high level (Mean = 4.28, SD = 0.83).
