The objective of this research study was to study the condition of health system operation and study factors affecting health system operation at district level, Na Thawi District, Songkhla Province, Thailand.
The study population involved all 138 members of the steering committee on Na Thawi District Health System (DHS) or Network. Data were collected using a questionnaire. We analyzed data using descriptive statistics (including mean, standard deviation), Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Our results indicated that:
(1) the overall organizational support and the DHS implementation were at a high level
(2) personal factors and organizational support factors (including budget, materials, time, and technology) were positively and significantly related to the DHS implementation (p= 0.05)
(3) based on the predictive equation, organizational (technology) support had the highest predictive power on the DHS implementation (P= 0.05); in our regression model, technology could explain 51.30% of the variation in the implementation
(4) problems have arisen due to the lack of committee meetings to drive the planning for development as well as the implementation of in Na Thawi District District Health System according to the district health system context.
