Abstract

The objectives of this study were to develop UV mobile system for Thai traditional medicine pharmaceutical factory and to determine the efficiency test of UV mobile on microbial disinfection. The studies begun with the design and manufacture of UV mobile with a width of 60 cm and a height of 2 m that appropriate for an area of 8 m width, 9 m length and 3.6 m height. Then, the efficiency test of UV mobile on microbial disinfection at different distances (1-4 m) was determined.

The results showed that after 30 mins turn on of UV mobile, bacteria were disinfected 96.80%, 94.42%, 91.36% and 86.97% as well as fungi were disinfected as 95.93%, 90.53%, 89.15% and 86.00% at 1, 2, 3 and 4 m distances from UV mobile respectively. Simultaneously, the efficiency tests of UV mobile on microbial disinfection in air and the surface of instruments or devices in Thai pharmaceutical factory were investigated by using air test and swab test. The outcomes of UV mobile using showed that bacteria and fungi were reduced in air and the surface of instruments or devices in Thai pharmaceutical factory when compared to before using of UV mobile. All findings implied that manufacture of UV mobile by operator could adapt for the area of Thai pharmaceutical factory and provided significant disinfected against the microorganisms that could be reduced the microbial contamination during the process of herb medicinal product.
