Abstract

This descriptive research study aimed to assess health promotion behaviors and factors Influencing health promotion behaviors among pre-aging population in Khlong Khwang Subdistrict, Sai Noi District, Nonthaburi. There was a sample size of 172 people. Data were collected using a questionnaire divided into 5 sections, including 1) General information, 2) Questionnaire about predisposing factors, 3) The questionnaire on enabling factors of pre-aging population, 4) The questionnaire on reinforcing factors of the pre-aging population, and 5) Behavioral questionnaire health promotion. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean (ð‘ĨĖ… ) and standard deviation (S.D), and multiple regression analysis.

The results showed most of them were female (n=105, 61.00 %), accounted in agriculture for 40.10 percent with monthly income of 5,000 - 10,000 baht on average accounting (39.50%). They had knowledge about health promotion at a high level (n=172, 100.00%), their attitude regarding health promotion behaviors was at a high level (ð‘ĨĖ…=4.13,S.D.=0.47), enabling factors included access to health care facilities at a high level  (ð‘ĨĖ… = 4.02, S.D.= 0.67),  and receiving convenience and supporting resource facilities at a moderate level (ð‘ĨĖ… = 3.26, S.D.= 0.66). There were reinforcing factors related to health promotion including receiving advice from family members at a high level (ð‘ĨĖ… =3.90, S.D.= 0.64), receiving advice from public health officials at a high level (ð‘ĨĖ…  =3.83, S.D.= 0.78), and receiving information from various sources is at a moderate level (ð‘ĨĖ… =3.30, S.D.= 0.60).  Factors influencing health promotion behaviors for pre-aging had a statistically significant, including behavioral attitude related to health promotion, accessibility to healthcare facilities, and receiving information from various sources at the 0.05 level. Therefore, providing accurate and essential information were crucial ones to develop a positive attitude towards health-promoting behaviors and gain access to healthcare services, which will enable to long-term solutions for health problems among pre-aging populations.
