Abstract

The purpose of this research study was to identify how six different factors may cause stress among undergraduate students in an applied Thai Traditional Medicine program enrolled in study during the 2018 academic year. The six factors included: 1) Academic factors 2) Social factors, 3) Family factors, 4) Economic factors, 5) Environmental factors, and 6) Factors relating to other people. We collected data via online questionnaire (Google form) which consists of 3 parts: 1) stress screening, 2) general information, and 3) stress factors. Our results showed that a majority of students who answered the questionnaire were female (61.3%) and were between the ages of 18-30 years. The highest proportion of participants were 21 years old (26%). A majority of students reported having severe (68.66%) and high (20.66%) levels of stress. Fewer students reported medium (10%) and low (0.66%) levels of stress  The major factors that students reported that caused the stress included social factors, such as lack of time to relax (75.33%), and educational aspects like not being able to understand the content of the study material clearly (52.66%) and the weekly academic schedule not being manageable (50%)
