บทคัดย่อ
การวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความทุกข์ทรมานของมารดาที่มีทารกแรกเกิดน้ำหนักน้อย ผู้ให้ข้อมูลเป็นมารดา จำนวน 24 คน ที่คลอดทารกแรกเกิดน้ำหนักน้อยและเข้ารับการรักษาในหอผู้ป่วยทารกแรกเกิดป่วย โรงพยาบาลศูนย์สังกัดกระทรวงสาธารณสุข ในเขตภาคตะวันออก เก็บข้อมูลด้วยการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลทั่วไปด้วยสถิติพรรณนาและข้อมูลสัมภาษณ์ใช้การวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ผลการศึกษาเสนอ 5 ประเด็นสำคัญ คือ 1) ลักษณะความทุกข์ทรมานของมารดา ได้แก่ ความวิตกกังวล/ความเครียด ความเศร้าโศกเสียใจ นอนไม่หลับ และไม่อยากรับประทานอาหาร 2) สาเหตุของความทุกข์ทรมาน ได้แก่ กลัวทารกมีภาวะแทรกซ้อน และกลัวทารกเสียชีวิต 3) ปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อความความทุกข์ทรมาน ได้แก่ ภาวะความเจ็บป่วยของบุตร และการสนับสนุนจากครอบครัว 4) วิธีการบรรเทาความทุกข์ทรมาน ได้แก่ การสร้างความหวัง การทำบุญ การสวดมนต์ขอพร การทำใจยอมรับสภาพของบุตร และ 5) ผลของการบรรเทาความทุกข์ทรมาน ได้แก่ การอยู่กับความทุกข์ทรมาน ความทุกข์ทรมานเบาบางลง และการมีความหวัง ผลการวิจัยนี้ช่วยเพิ่มความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับความทุกข์ทรมานของมารดาที่มีทารกแรกเกิดน้ำหนักน้อยที่เข้ารับการรักษาในหอผู้ป่วยทารกแรกเกิดป่วยมากขึ้น พยาบาลหรือบุคลากรทางสุขภาพควรใช้ผลการวิจัยนี้เป็นแนวทางในการพัฒนารูปแบบการพยาบาลเพื่อบรรเทาความทุกข์ทรมานของมารดาที่มีทารกแรกเกิดน้ำหนักน้อย อันจะส่งผลให้มารดาสามารถดูแลทารกได้อย่างเหมาะสม
