บทคัดย่อ
วิจัยเชิงคุณภาพนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาประสบการณ์การจัดการตนเองของผู้ป่วยเบาหวานชนิดที่ 2 ที่อาศัยในเขตชนบทระหว่างกลุ่มที่ควบคุมระดับน้ำตาลในเลือดได้และไม่ได้เก็บข้อมูลโดยการสัมภาษณ์แบบเชิงลึกผู้ป่วยเบาหวานในเขตชนบทแห่งหนึ่ง จำนวน 30 คน ผลวิจัยพบว่าผู้ให้ข้อมูลทั้ง 2 กลุ่มมี ประสบการณ์การจัดการตนเอง แตกต่างกัน 3 ประเด็น คือ 1) เป้าหมายในชีวิต: กลุ่มที่ควบคุมระดับน้ำตาลในเลือดได้มีเป้าหมายในการมีชีวิตอยู่ที่ชัดเจนเพื่อตนเองและผู้อื่น ขณะที่ผู้ป่วยอีกกลุ่มไม่มีเป้าหมายชีวิตที่แน่นอน 2) ความน่าเชื่อถือของแหล่งข้อมูล: กลุ่มที่ควบคุมระดับน้ำตาลในเลือดได้แสวงหาข้อมูลจากแหล่งที่น่าเชื่อถือขณะที่ผู้ป่วยอีกกลุ่มแสวงหาข้อมูลจาก แหล่งที่ไม่หลากหลายและไม่น่าเชื่อถือ 3) การปรับเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรม: กลุ่มที่ควบคุมระดับน้ำตาลในเลือดได้มีวินัยในตนเองเรื่องการปรับการปฏิบัติตัวเพื่อควบคุมระดับน้ำตาลในเลือดทั้งการรับประทานอาหาร ออกำลังกายรับประทานยาดูแลเท้าขณะที่ผู้ป่วยอีกกลุ่มไม่ได้เคร่งครัดตนเองในประเด็นดังกล่าวข้างต้นส่วนในด้านการจัดการความเครียดนั้น พบว่าผู้ป่วยทั้ง 2 กลุ่มมีวิธีการจัดการความเครียดคล้ายคลึงกันได้แก่ ทำใจยอมรับปัญหาพูดคุยกับผู้อื่นและหากิจกรรมอื่นทำคลายเครียดผลวิจัยนี้สามารถนำไปเป็นข้อมูลในการปรับกิจกรรมให้เหมาะสมกับสภาพปัญหาของผู้ป่วยเบาหวานแต่ละประเภทต่อไป
