The situation of the aging society in Thailand coupled with the health problems of older adults due to deterioration of the body causes the ability of activities of older adults to decrease. It can be seen that in addition to the longevity of older adults, living a healthy or self-reliant lifestyle should be promoted. Health literacy is related to health behavior and health outcomes. It refers to the ability and skills to access and understand information and knowledge for self-management including communication about personal health, family and community for good health. Therefore, the development of knowledge about the health of older adults in the community should be a priority. Nurses are health personnel that have close contact with older adults in the community and their families. Community health nurses play a vital role in promoting health literacy among older adults in the community and encouraging behavior that is appropriate for their health conditions in order to sustain a long, good quality of while decreasing dependency.
