บทบาทพยาบาลอนามัยชุมชนกับการสร้างเสริมความรอบรู้ด้านสุขภาพของผู้สูงอายุในชุมชน

ด้วยสถานการณ์การก้าวเข้าสู่สังคมผู้สูงอายุ (aging society) ของประเทศไทยในปัจจุบัน ส่งผลกระทบต่อปัญหาสุขภาพของผู้สูงอายุที่มีแนวโน้มเพิ่มขึ้นอันเนื่องมาจากความเสื่อมสภาพของร่างกาย ทำให้ความสามารถในการทำกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ของผู้สูงอายุลดน้อยลง การมีชีวิตอยู่อย่างสุขภาพดี หรือพึ่งพาตนเองให้ได้มากที่สุดในวัยสูงอายุ จึงเป็นสิ่งที่ควรส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนแก่ผู้สูงอายุเป็นอย่างยิ่ง ความรอบรู้ด้านสุขภาพเป็นสิ่งที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับพฤติกรรมสุขภาพและผลลัพธ์สุขภาพ โดยเป็นความสามารถและทักษะในการเข้าถึง เข้าใจ ข้อมูล ความรู้ เพื่อการจัดการตนเอง รวมถึงการสื่อสารเรื่องสุขภาพส่วนบุคคล ครอบครัว และชุมชนเพื่อสุขภาพที่ดี ดังนั้นการพัฒนาให้เกิดความรอบรู้ด้านสุขภาพแก่ผู้สูงอายุในชุมชนจึงเป็นสิ่งที่ควรให้ความสำคัญ พยาบาลอนามัยชุมชนเป็นบุคลากรด้านสุขภาพที่ให้การดูแลผู้สูงอายุในชุมชนและครอบครัว สามารถมีบทบาทในการเสริมสร้างความรอบรู้ด้านสุขภาพแก่ผู้สูงอายุในชุมชน เพื่อให้ผู้สูงอายุปฏิบัติพฤติกรรมสุขภาพอย่างเหมาะสมเพื่อสามารถดูแลตนเองให้มีชีวิตที่ยืนยาวได้อย่างมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดี และลดการพึ่งพาผู้อื่น
