Abstract

This study on the identity of nurse care managers combines professional knowledge with the skills, abilities, attitudes, values and ethical standards that have a positive relationship with job satisfaction, and career and organizational commitment. When nurse care managers recognize the self, the role and the context, they will develop their own potential for both knowledge and operations of nurses to be effective and secure in their care of patients. Therefore, nursing executives should focus on the identity of the nurse care manager through job enrichment, which is one tool for developing the potential of this workforce.
