Abstract

This synthesis research aims to study quality of life and health-related quality of life, and expand quality of life and health-related quality of life elements among children and adolescents living with HIV. The study focused on three Meta–study perspectives, including meta–theory, meta–methodology and meta–data analysis. Data collection comprised three steps --  selection and appraisal of primary research, data evaluation, and data extraction -- and was conducted with primary research related to quality of life and health–related quality of life among children and adolescents living with HIV published between 1990 and 2018.  Three meta–studies were analyzed, and eleven relevant papers were identified for synthesis. Six quality of life and health-related quality of life domains were identified; these are the physical, psychosocial, sexual and reproductive health, stability in life, family and social and resource domains. Recommendation from this study are suitable for use by health services in preparing for children and adolescents living with HIV.
