Abstract

การตั้งครรภ์ไม่พึงประสงค์ เป็นการตั้งครรภ์ที่เกิดขึ้นเมื่อสตรียังไม่ต้องการให้มีบุตรเกิดขึ้นหรือไม่ยอมรับการตั้งครรภ์ ส่วนใหญ่เกิดในวัยรุ่น ปัจจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องประกอบด้วย ด้านตัวของวัยรุ่นเอง ด้านครอบครัว และด้านสังคมซึ่งเมื่อเกิดขึ้นแล้วทำให้เกิดผลกระทบมากมาย พยาบาลในฐานะทีมสุขภาพควรมีบทบาทเชิงรุก  ในการช่วยป้องกันการตั้งครรภ์ไม่พึงประสงค์ในวัยรุ่น โดยควรคำนึงถึงตัววัยรุ่นเป็นสำคัญให้มีความภาคภูมิใจในตนเอง และมีทักษะชีวิตที่ดี เพื่อเป็นเกราะคุ้มกันและมีภูมิต้านทานในตนเอง โดยดำเนินการผ่านสถาบันครอบครัว โรงเรียน ชุมชน โรงพยาบาล รัฐบาลและหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง เป้าหมายเพื่อลดปัญหาการตั้งครรภ์ไม่พึงประสงค์ และเพื่อช่วยสร้างสังคมให้มีประชากรที่ดีและมีคุณภาพต่อไป

Unwanted Pregnancies: The Proactive Role of Nurses

Unwanted or unintended pregnancy is defined as the discovery of pregnancy when a woman does not desire or accept it. Unwanted pregnancy could effect a numerous aspects of being a women, particularly during adolescence. Factors affecting unwanted adolescent pregnancy include their personal characteristics as well as family and social aspects. Nurses, a professional career in the health care team, should take a proactive role to prevent unwanted adolescent pregnancy. Consideration should centre on the adolescent. Promoting their self-esteem and life skills could encourage their self protection. The effective cooperation of families, schools, communities, hospitals, government and related sectors could improve society in order to achieve the ultimate goal of reducing unwanted pregnancies.
