Factor Affecting Decision-Making Skills to Drug Abuse amongst the Youth Attending Hospitals in Phuket Province

Abstract

     The purpose of this research was to study 1) Factors Affecting Drug Use Decisions of Children and Youth  2) To study the process of learning, imitation and stigma from society. leading to deviant behavior and drug abuse of children and youth.3) To study the decision-making process of children and youth on the basis of family social relationships. Friends and Community The samples were children and youth who were admitted to the drug treatment program of the service facility. in Phuket. which has 72 people. This research was mainly qualitative research. This research was mainly qualitative research. The two research tools used in this research are : 1) Semi Structured Questionnaires and  2)  in-depth interview questions.  The data were processed by SPSS program and the study results were analyzed according to the specified issues. The presentation was presented by descriptive writing and statistical data from the data analysis of the semi-structured questionnaire. to reflect the research answers more clearly.

     The results of the research revealed that 1) Factors affecting drug addiction among youths come from  2 parts: Part 1, personal and environmental factors, namely family, friends and relatives who have drug-related behaviors that children and youth rely on. stay with In addition, the environment in the community where children and youth live has drug resources and community members use and distribute drugs. and the second part, the children and the youth had behaviors of not completing their studies. family members have problems have a positive belief in drug abuse and had deviant behavior before making a decision to use drugs As a result, children and youth decide to use drugs. 2) Children and youth are able to use drugs because they learn from close people who have behaviors related to drugs. and have risky behaviors, including smoking and drinking alcohol, causing children and youth to imitate the behavior of that person. For children and youth who decide to use drugs Because of the stigma of being accused by people around them that children and young people have behaviors of drug use. make children and youth decide to act on the charge; and3) It was found that children and adolescents made the decision to use drugs because of 3 components: (1) good relationship between children and youth and drug-related persons and (2) the role of drug-related persons. in the lives of children and adolescents, and (3) the frequency of encountering drug behaviors in these three components. It is a factor that encourages children and youth to decide to use drugs.

     From this study Shows the important factors that cause decision-making to use drugs among children and youth. The results of this study can be used as important information to help solve and prevent drug problems in children and youth on the spot. This will cause the problem of drug abuse in children and youth to be reduced or at a level that can be controlled. does not affect the society as a whole.
