Abstract

This quasi-experimental study aimed to compare the knowledge of end-of-life care among village health volunteers. The participants consisted of 40 village health volunteers, selected through simple random sampling. Data collection was conducted in August 2024. The tools used included an educational plan and a knowledge assessment form, both validated by three experts, with item-objective congruence (IOC) scores ranging from 0.67 to 1.00 and a reliability score (KR-20) of 0.72. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test.

The results showed that after the intervention, village health volunteers had a significantly higher mean score in knowledge of end-of-life care compared to their pre-intervention scores
(p < 0.01).

Therefore, continuous training and follow-up by health professionals are recommended to ensure that village health volunteers perform accurately and more effectively.
