The Study on the Relationship Between Perception and Participation in the Prevention and Control of Dengue Fever Among Village Health Volunteers in Phra Phrom District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

Abstract

     This descriptive research the objective was to study the relationship between perception with participation in prevention and control of dengue fever of village health volunteers. The sample group was 259 people is village health volunteers in Phra Phrom District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The tool used was a questionire. The reliability value of perception was equal to 0.91 and participation was equal to 0.99. Data were analyzed using frequency distribution, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. and Pearson's correlation coefficient statistics. The statistical significance was set at 0.05 level.

     The study found that Most of the samples group had perception about dengue fever. was at high level (M= 4.29, S.D.= 0.39), participation in prevention and control of dengue fever was at high level (M= 4.04, S.D.= 0.52). The results of the study of the relationship between perception with participation in dengue fever prevention and control found that perception was positively related to participation in prevention and control of dengue fever at a high level, significantly. Statistics (r = 0.627, p < 0.001)

     Therefore, it is important to raise awareness or organize activities to build confidence in preventing dengue fever. Emphasis is on creating understanding about dengue fever. and reducing obstacles that prevent disease prevention from achieving expected results, such as managing resources and providing accurate and clear information. Participation takes place to effectively prevent and control dengue fever at the community.
