Contexts, Problems, and Needs based on Waste Management of Communities in Municipality Areas, Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

This study examined contexts, problems, and needs on waste management of community in municipality areas, Khon Kaen province. Samples were 384 municipal employees and residences. Instrument was a questionnaire consisted of 3 parts was tested for validity by 5 experts yielding the values of 0.97, 0.95, and 0.91, respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics including frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviations. According to the study: 1) contexts of management waste that community garbage has increased, yet there were suitable waste management techniques; 2) problems issues were at a low level and comprised of the following: transportation, separation, disposal location and shelter, and disturbance; 3) There were high pressing needs for a sustainable and inclusive approach to the management of recyclable waste. As a result, this study highlights how crucial it was to create a sustainable trash bank through a participatory approach for municipalities in order to encourage waste separation at the source, increase awareness, and contribute to community income. Thus, we should be encouraged and supported, and community and municipal involvement is crucial to addressing the circumstances, issues, and requirements of recyclable waste management of sustainable in Khon Kaen province and the creation of an efficient, comprehensive, and sustainable waste management mechanism, utilizing a successful municipal involvement approach to establish a sustainable waste bank management model.
